I went up to the Minneapolis Pride parade yesterday.
So it's time for some pictures. Okay a LOT of pictures.
Part 1 Starts now...
Ashley Rukes was a transgendered lady who was very active in many social LGBT issues, and director of Twin Cities' Pride Festival.

There were several mentions of Orlando in the Parade...

It's the Dykes on Bikes...

The guys are getting in on the act too. Not sure what they are called...

Thoughts for Orlando, and some eye candy...

This group was carrying signs and pictures of the murder victims from Orlando. It really chokeed me up...

I'm not sure if the next group was actually from Brazil, or if it was people of Brazilian heritage...

I'm not sure what their titles were...

US Senator Amy Klobuchar in an old Caddy...

A very colorful tribute to Orlando...

These two young guys, especially the one on the left, were dancing up a storm on the back of this truck. They were quite popular, at least on my corner of the street...

Businesses were busy proclaiming their support of the LGBT community. This one was Cargill...

The Renaissance Festival always marches...

General Mills likes Gay people too...

Eye Candy...

This was some people from a dance studio making their way down the parade route.
mrdreamjeans, not sure if these are any of your friends or not...

Muslims supporting LGBT and denouncing hatred...

So it's time for some pictures. Okay a LOT of pictures.

Date: 2016-06-27 03:26 pm (UTC)I'm happy to see the Muslims against homophobia... just a few weeks ago both an imam and a rabbi were asked in a actuality tv show in Belgium if they would accept their son if he would be gay and they couldn't answer the question. They kept going around the question but never gave an answer... It was sad and shocking to see..

Date: 2016-06-27 03:32 pm (UTC)One guy had a great sign, I wish I had gotten a picture of. It said something to the effect of, Alah has 99 names and none of them are Bigot. :)

Date: 2016-06-28 12:42 am (UTC)Thankfully this year the corner I was on didn't have one of those dang, "God's Going To Get You", whack jobs.
I just wish it was closer. Rochester, which I live just outside of, has a Pride weekend in July, but it's nothing compared to Minneapolis'.
