Book Reading.......
Apr. 4th, 2016 10:19 amI just finished up book No. 14.
It was The Accidental Feminist: How Elizabeth Taylor Raised Our Consciousness and We Were Too Distracted by Her Beauty to Notice by M. G. Lord.
It's kind of a combination biography/feminist study.
The author takes us through Elizabeth Taylor's career concentrating on several roles she played that had strong feminist leanings. At one point she admits that Elizabeth Taylor probably never took a role for that reason, but whether she saw it or not, the characters had feminist qualities.
I am a HUGE Elizabeth Taylor fan, so it is always enjoyable to read bios of her life and career.
Occasionally the author's study of the feminist side of things got a little long winded and dry, but it was still interesting non the less.
Book List 2016:
1. Schooled in Revenge by Jesse Lasky
2. A Murder is Announced by Agatha Christie
3. Kicking and Dreaming by Ann & Nancy Wilson with Charles R. Cross
4. The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling
5. A Kingdom Keepers Adventure: The Syndrome:Finders Keepers Losers Sleepers by Ridley Pearson
6. The Carpet People by Terry Pratchett
