Feb. 22nd, 2016 06:55 amOnce Upon a Time...
I also went to Las Vegas.
This will be the second to last posting of last years trip to Sin City.
This is the Statue of Liberty made from Twizzlers licorice

This construction site...

Use to be the blue building on the right of this photograph

The blue building on the right of this photograph is sitting empty and needs to be tore down because it's not salvageable.

Hoover Dam...

Looking down at base of dam

The white mark on the rock walls is the highest point the water of Lake Mead has ever been at. It is now quite low due to draught

Appears to be a ladder that only reaches half way down to the boat dock. I am assuming the water is usually a wee bit higher then it is here

Back side of the dam

The bridge that was built over the dam so traffic didn't have to drive down and over the two lane road over the dam

Wild big horn sheep in a local park. Don't touch, they are a protected species

Looking back at Lake Mead

Kind of a disturbing highway sign. lol........

Sadly, I can't picture it being made now. No cooperation for getting anything like that done here any more. :o

Date: 2016-02-22 04:00 pm (UTC)The trip was to include the tour down into the dam, but I didn't want to take the time and not have time to walk around and get pictures outside of the low water. That is what I really took the whole tour for. lol... And I had already done the tour down into the dam on another visit.

Date: 2016-02-22 09:47 pm (UTC)My friend worked on that building that cost something like 115mil to build, only to not pass inspection and told it would cost 200mil to fix, hence why it was torn down...talk about cutting your losses!
Love going to that park with the long horns :))
