Finished up Book No. 6 last evening.
I read, The Carpet People by Terry Pratchett.
Mr. Pratchett originally wrote this book when he was 17 years old. After his other books started to get popular people saw this title listed and started asking for it. Mr. Pratchett wasn't happy with how it sounded, and so in his 40s he rewrote some of the book and it was released. :)
It's about the people and creatures that live in the carpet. :p
It feels very much like his Disc World series of books. :)

Book List 2016:
1. Schooled in Revenge by Jesse Lasky
2. A Murder is Announced by Agatha Christie
3. Kicking and Dreaming by Ann & Nancy Wilson with Charles R. Cross
4. The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling
5. A Kingdom Keepers Adventure: The Syndrome:Finders Keepers Losers Sleepers by Ridley Pearson
6. The Carpet People by Terry Pratchett

I need to give Terry Pratchett a serious read. Gilles is into Discworld and I personally love Neil Gaiman whom Terry Pratchett has written with so....perhaps, it's time I give him a real shot.

Well, I called it. I floated and I am babysitting. UGH...

Not sure if boring is always the correct work. Some times these confused patients are horrible to take care of. :o
So far tonight it's been okay. KNOCK ON WOOD. :o

I am tempted to say The Carpet People as it's his first real book. If you get the new/updated version it includes at the end a copy of the weekly story he wrote that was printed in a newspaper. It was kind of prelude for the book. Fun to read.
As for his Discworld series, you can read them out of order without any real problems. Although occasionally there is chronological things. If you want one book to give you a good taste of his works, I would suggest "Mort". It introduces the character Death. It is REALLY fun.

Oh my, the carpet people. I would hate to think what lives in my 'area rug' with these dogs :-o

I have been reading some 'cozy mysteries' but the authors note said they where not actually cozy but more 'hard boiled', I am still trying to figure out what that means!

It is about a police detective who was kicked off the force for starting a fight. Then he was an alcoholic for a few years and then he got back on his feet and sells hot dogs and brats from a kiosk. But he solves crimes on the side, hee hee!
Pretty OK writing though and I am starting to like the guy :-D
