I grew up watching the old Miss Marple movies starring Margaret Rutherford, and just loved her in them. :) Got me hooked I guess. :)

Congrats! I missed my goal of 30 by over half! But I blame all the fanfic reading. ;)

Can you believe I've never read any Agatha Christy? (And clearly I can't spell her name either... )

LOL.........
Spelling is not my strong point either. :p
I recommend them. They are fun reads. Although The Moving Fingers barely qualifies in my opinion as a Miss Marple book. She doesn't show up until chapter 10 and there are only 15 chapters. LOL...

What did you think of 'the last continent'? I think you need to know about the jokes about Aussies to really get that one! :o)

I knew some of the things, but it was tough to read not understanding all of them.

I've only read book nos 22 and 23. You are the only person I've found that likes Cadfael! I love those books.

I first found Cadfael on the PBS Mystery shows. I assume they were originally British shows. It starred Derek Jacobi. LOVED those shows. Another LJ friend told me I should read the books because they were better.

Derek Jacobi is my favourite actor. I loved the Cadfael series and was really upset when they stopped making them.
Did you ever watch him in I Claudius?

The book by Robert Graves is very good, but takes a while to get thru! I'm sure you will enjoy the series again.

I think you like Janet Evanovich, I will have to check her out.
I love mysteries and I really should keep track of the books I read!
Usually I read a book a week...

WOW a book a week? Sweet. :)

I was disappointed in The Moving Finger.
It's part of the Miss Marple series, but she didn't show up until chapter 10 out of 15. :o And she was barely there until the end to tell how she figured it out. :o

I detest that, when she shows up late, I mean come on, what was up with that Dame Agatha?

There was a really fun book I read this year kind of related - let me get my Nook...

Here it is, The Christie Curse by Victoria Abbott

I just don't seem to make enough of an effort.
That and with not sleeping well, when I try to read on break at work, I have a lot of trouble reading through my eyelids. lol.........
