I think I am going to die. :o

I got home this morning to several inches on the ground. I headed for the snow blower. I have had the thing for several years and either haven't needed it or it was out of commission when I did need it. I tried to start it up. And tried and tried and tried. Put some gas in it, and it finally started. The tires started spinning but no snow was moving. I tried to squeeze the router thingy and it wouldn't move. So I squeezed extra hard and bang, the damn cable snapped.
ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, no snow blower, so Jon started shoveling out the driveway.
This is a perfect example of why you don't gain your weight back when you have dieted in Minnesota. OMg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I was living closer to my mother's place up in Georgian Bay it actually turned out to be cheaper cost-wise to hire someone else to do it for the season than to pay for maintenance of equipment, salt, and take time away from other things to try and keep up with clearing snow.

Living in an apartment these days we don't generally have to do much more than clear the car off. Hopefully we'll both have a milder winter than usual this year and not have to stress over much of it!

We are suppose to have a mild one with the El Nino this year.
So far it has been.
I hope it's not an expensive fix. If it is, I may say forget it and either look into a new one or like you said, find somebody to blow for us. Only trouble with that is, you are at their time schedule for getting in the driveway and such. :(

I've lived in Upper Michigan and Wisconsin, and have relatives in Minnesota, I remember the snow. Shoveling was sort of a national sport. LOL!

That's why we're doing it and seriously considering a condo over a house in the long run.

The maintenance fees for a condo corporation to handle the external work are probably cheaper than paying for yard/garden/driveway maintenance year round.
