Sadly, I won't hold my breath.
I think I read the day after the attack, Congress refused to vote in favor of cracking down on assault weapons. Or something like that. :(

You know what remembers this you to?
According to realistic tales about Russia, it's a common appearance there for government workers and state servants to think because of this circumstance they're above the law and they have to be given an advantage compared to all the others.
If listening to these stories of America's cops "running amok" (factually it is nothing more than that if you play the wild boar in your profession), it reminds to this.
Some might think they're above the law and partly through laws itself they think they're entitled to do everything. Just to add something on top, through the anti-terror laws in the country even more, there's no-one which checks them if what they do in their profession meets the situation.
