i know it's a dangerous world and the police are twitchy
the 2 NYC policemen shot dead while sitting in their car are proof

but - can we please retrain police to shoot to disable not to kill
and can we do it NOW
before trust in police officers is completely eroded

Didn't they wonder why the man flagged them for assistance in the first place?? Did they think he did in order to shoot them? And couldn't they SEE he didn't have a gun? Meeeeeeeeeh

I can understand why the policemen would be suspicious, but it sounds like they were shooting to kill. Was that necessary? And then to handcuff him? Couldn't they see he was unconscious?
Scary. I hope he survives.

This is awful. Police over the pond seem so trigger happy. Yes, retrain them to incapacitate not to kill.
