I don't know if you can weigh both things one against the other...

I look at it as both are "home grown" terrorism, maybe different reasons, but terrorism none the less. :(

The T-word, sure, yes. Comparing from the facts, it fits into this category. But I'd think it's the only connection. Both things are too different.

re Lindsey Graham
there is an old saying - if it's on your property it's a wild boar - if it's on my property it's just an unruly pig

an incident always inspires similar crazies
it's a hard decision - the public needs to know - the media loves a "good story" but the crazy thinks "oh me too!"

i think some of the coverage of Charleston has been excessive

The news media really needs to discover some kind of balance. Not every story needs to be 24/7 for three weeks or until the next "it" story comes along. And sadly that's what will happen, another killing some where or another celebrity will get engaged, and Charleston will be on the back burner. ARGH........

the only slightly positive thing in this sadness - Rachel Dolezel is forgotten
the media has a better story

the NY Times was beside itself - Pope Frank and Charleston too - huge stories for both

Agreed. I find the media on the whole to be quite hysterical.
