I am sooo pissed.
For about the last three weeks I have been trying to get some help from my union to fix an issue at work.
I talked to somebody in person and then waited to hear back from her.
Then I left her a voice message and waited to hear from her.
Then I left her another vocie message and waited.
Then I gave up and called the office up in Minneapolis to see if they could actually help.
What a joke...
She took my information and then proceeded to tell me to show my manager the wording in the contract and if that didn't take care of things I was to file a grievence.
All this should take is a call from the union office. I don't want to get mixed up in a grievence mess.
So the other day I went to the union office to get another copy of the contract.
One little problem... They MOVED...
So this morning I went back into Rochester to their new office to get a copy of the contract, only to find out they only open the offices on Monday.
WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They take in thousands of dollars a month in union dues and they can only be around on Mondays to take care of them members?
ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's disgraceful! Sounds like your union reps, friends or not, aren't doing their jobs. If things work the same way as in the UK, they should be working on your behalf, you shouldn't have to go to the main office. I wish you luck on Monday should you decide to take it further.

The nurses and doctors are just about the only ones that are union here. The nurses, at least the vocal ones, are extremely Anti union.
They have it so easy here. Going union would be their biggest mistake.

Finally talked to her Monday and she was hoping to wrap things up then. Then got a call from her saying HR person was out that day would hopefully take care of Tuesday. Well, Tuesday has come and gone and no word.
