I wonder if the red fox has a winter and summer coat and that's why its more black at the moment?

I love sea life... The zoos don't really have aquariums, but there's an aquarium in Coney Island. Jeff and I went to the Baltimore Aquarium, and they have tons of jellyfish!

I have pictures from last year that I was too lazy to post of the lynx when they were babies. I should try to post a few. :)
They had a couple of other displays in Discovery Bay that weren't open yet. One was for an octopus. :)

Wow, you got some great pictures! I especially like the big cats and the wolves.

We have foxes here, and I think "red fox" refers to the species in general. As far as I know they can come in any color variation, even if most have red pelts.

Looks like a great zoo! I've never seen a live wolverine in person before; maybe I ought to go there c:

I'm not up to speed on all my red fox color mutations, but that might be a cross fox? They're one of the natural color morphs seen in red foxes (Vulpes vulpes). There are also black-coated red foxes, called "silver foxes", which are a little rarer and don't have any red on them. I've seen red red foxes and silver foxes before, but never any cross foxes, so it's sounding more and more like I should pay the Minnesota Zoo a visit!

Another interesting thing about the fox was they had it in an inclosure with a raccoon. I thought that was a little odd, but they didn't seem to be trying to kill each other. lol...
