I've only read a little about these families, but they both sound like absolute train wrecks. And ugh...I'd be ashamed of my mother if she spat out one kid after another, like an unspayed alley cat. Disgusting!

what is never said is that the Duggars are apparently "Quiver People" - a very conservative christian group who think it is their mission to repopulate the earth with "good christians" ( as opposed to bad ones?)
Women are seen as vessels for this mission whose duty it is to bear as many children as possible.
She is the quiver to be filled with christian arrows and he is the archer who possesses the quiver.
