Good News/Bad News.....

Good News:
Maggie's appetite seems to be back. Until this morning she had barely eaten since Some time Saturday. :o

Bad News:
Maggie is still limping on her left front paw.
It's weird, she limps around the house, but if I take her over and walk through the cemetary, she doesn't seem to limp at all. :o
The pads of her paw feel okay. I have squeezed her paw and leg all the way up to her shoulder and she doesn't pull away or anything like she's having pain from me doing that. If it continues, I will have to call the vet.

I was more worried about her not eating, so I was thrilled to see her eating again this morning. :)

funny about her paw and the limping.
but she IS a girl, perhaps she is trying to get your attention for extra snuggles and outside she is too distracted to care :o)


anyways.. i hope she is fine soon and there's nothing really serious to worry!

This is good news about her appetite but her poor paw. I wonder what happened. She might not limp when you take her out because she is so excited to be out?

Do you think a piece of ice could have gotten lodged and cause some soreness before it melted?

We have had some awful paw problems here with a certain kind of horrible thorn. Did you feel around between the toes of her pad? Poor girl! Sending good thoughts!

I have felt around her paw a lot. She never pulls away from me like it causes pain. I think she did this once before, but it went away after a day or two.
I think I will give her another day or two, and then call the vet if it's not better.

Wood floors? Linoleum? Has she fallen on the floors? Maybe she doesn't like the sound her footsteps make? Doggy boots? Mother Earth always feels good to a doggie paw :) Absorbs the pressure. The combination of the eating/limping makes me wonder if she had a low grade infection someplace. Back of neck, joint...

Most of the upstairs is carpet. For now. Plan is to get rid of it some time. :p
I am going to give her a day or so, and then call the vet if she's still limping around. :o

My aunt had a little dachshund who used to limp and whine pathetically on walks. My aunt took her to the vet several times, and there was absolutely nothing wrong with the dog. It turned out she was limping because that would get her attention, and mainly the lazy little thing just wanted to be carried on walks. LOL

Appetite seems good, and limping seems to be gone. :)
Although I have been naughty and fallen behind on her flea and tick meds. UGH...
Doesn't help when the stupid stores don't open until an hour after I get done working. Who wants to hang around that long or go home and then drive back into town to get it. Must try this one place that does open earlier. Maybe they have it. :)
