A couple of more books to add to the list...

No. 32 is Liberty by Garrison Keillor.
I listened to the cd version of the book read by the author.
It's the story of the man, Clint, who has been in charge of the Fourth of July festivities in Lake Wobegon, Mn for the past several years. Unfortunately this is his final year becaue the rest of the committee has ousted him. He has been going through a midlife crisis even to the point of having an affair.
Lake Wobegon is filled with a riotous group of people.

Grade: A-

No. 33 is The Fire Engine That Disappeared by Maj Sjowall and Per Wahloo.
It's a Swedish crime/detective book. I picked it up on vacation at the Chapel in the Hills gift shop.
It's the story of a less then harmonious police station trying to solve the case of apparent suicide that involved an apartment building fire that killed 4 people. Of course it wasn't a simple suicide case.

Grade: A-

I envy how much you read! I don't have the attention span as much but once I'm over in France, I think I'll have time on my hands for awhile...really want to delve into The Lord of The Rings. The movies are my favorite and the books always looked daunting to me. But I can at least give it a try!

Take the books with you to France. :)

I am shipping a box of them along with 5 other boxes of belongings (stressing about what that will cost!). Off topic and probably a very stupid question but is that you in the profile pic? If so - what a cutie!

Pretty much the same still just more grey. LOL.....
Thank you. :)

Sjöwall Wahlöö created one of the most dysfunctional police stations ever :)

I've read a couple of their books and watched most of the movies and I really enjoyed them. The books are better than the movies, though.

I'm so behind on Janet Evanovich's books it's not even funny. I might never be able to catch up on them.

I was going to do another Janet book, but I started a different first. lol......

Of course it wasn't a simple suicide case.

Now that would be it. One chapter, 20 pages, book finished. Everybody happy.

Something like that :p As a kid it really frustrated me that there was always something going wrong, that there was always a problem... I just wanted to see that everything was good :p

So you stick with short stories then? :)

Hahaha, it's seems I'm over the frustration now. I even don't mind at all when everything is not alright in the end. More realistic, right?
