hobby lobby STILL PROVIDES BIRTH CONTROL COVERAGE.

they just refuse to provide coverage for anything THEY consider to be an abortion. example, morning-after pills. or IUD's. or any proceedure which actually IS an abortion.

yes, it's HORRIBLY invasive of women's privacy, but they still do cover SOME birth control items/proceedures, including sterilization for men and women both.

But if you wanted to get technical, any form of birth control is a form of an abortion because it prevents life. Which of course, according to the Bible, is the only reason you are allowed to have sex. :p

they keep saying those words, i do not think what they think they mean.

not only that, but the bible is HEAVILY edited from original words by patriarchal men who wanted things done THEIR way. up to and including cutting out entire groups of books in there, because those books were written by women, painted women who were NOT lovely little christian wives and mothers in a positive light, and had people in there disagreeing with their attitudes.

besides, most christians nowadays aren't following christ, they're following the teaching of paul, who started out PERSECUTING the christians and who never met the rabbi jeshua ben joseph at all. (that would be jesus, according to the official roman census.)

Well, that pretty well sums up my arguement against people using the Bible as God's "word". :p

exactly so. ;)

i have no problems in accepting that jesus was the son of god, nor of his divinity. i have no issue accepting that he had some damn good ideas.

but that ain't my path. :)

NOT TO MENTION that there is nothing against birth control! the only thing in there is that onan spilt his seed upon the sand instead of doing his duty.

he was supposed to lie with his brother's widow, to give his brother an heir. instead, he f'sked the sister-in-law and withdrew so that he didn't get her pregnant. the sin was not only the "birth control", but the avoiding his covenant with the family, to give the brother an heir. the fact that he withdrew was a nothing, if he had done it with HIS wife it would not have been a "sin" at all.
