I am a couple behind...

Book No. 17 was Lake Wobegon Days by Garrison Keillor.
I have really enjoyed Garrison Keillor's story telling, so I was very happy when my friend Mr. Owl gave me this book.
I have to say I was not really expecting style of story told in this book. I am use to Mr. Keillor's short funny stories. Lake Wobegon Days is a full history of the mythical town of Lake Wobegon, Mn. He takes you way back to the prehistory of Lake Wobegon. Then he brings the story all the way up through his "growing up" in Lake Wobegon.
Garrison Keillor has a very comfortable story telling process, and I am looking forward to reading more of his stories.

Grade: A-

Book No. 18 was The Mysterious Affair at Styles by Agatha Christie.
This was Agatha Christie's first published book. It got great reviews/praise for a first timers book, and I have to agree. Agatha Christie is a great story teller.
This book is a Hercule Poirot story. Although I am more of a Miss Marple fan, I do enjoy Poirot's stories too. This being his first time out the poor little guy gets a few knocks. His personality gets questioned as that of an old washed up police detective
The step mother of a wealthy family is murdered and Poirot must figure out what happened to her.
Agatha Christie had me fooled. I had a couple of people who I thought were the perps, but I was wrong. :o

I need to re-read Agatha Christie, it's been too long. Watching them on TV just isn't the same.

I enjoy the tv shows and movies, but it's just not quite the same as reading them. :)
