Book Reading.....
May. 31st, 2014 04:31 amA couple of days back I finally finished about another book.
No. 16 was Agatha Christie: Murder in the Making by John Curran.
The author took excerpts from Agatha Christie's notebooks where she kept plot information for books she was writing or thought about writing, and compared it to the finished products.
It was very interesting on a historical level to see the developement of her books.
However, it was kind of difficult, at times, trying to follow her "shorthand" notes. It didn't help either not being familiar with some of the stories.
I was kind of saddened to learn that Ms. Christie wasn't a fan of, or was it the critics that weren't, of some of my favorite movies made from her stories. They were the movies starring Margaret Rutherford as Miss Marple. Also, that only one of the movies was based on a Miss Marple story. Two were based on stories that were actually Hercule Poirot, and the last one was made up. :o
