disneydream06I know I shouldn't let work get to me this much, but I am so sick of being jerked around.
Thursday and Friday nights I was/am suppose to be orientating a new aide on our station. There is also another aide orientating another new aide at the same time.
We have had a couple of confused patients on our station that have required being babysat the last few nights.
When I left work Thursday morning, I knew that some how they would screw up staffing and create grief for me tonight.
Sure enough I got to work and the charge nurse said that both "G" and myself were orientating the new aides and that "V" was going to double shift and sit with one of the confused patients.
Okay...
So I take my newbie and head over to the other side of our station. I run into "V" who asked me if I wanted some report because he had to get going because he was going to pick up the night shift over on another station. I told him he better check because the charge nurse told me he was working on our station.
I went about my business with my newbie, and then "G" comes over and asks if I or he was going to be sitting with the confused patient? I said I thought "V" was. Nope he's working else where.
So to save a hassle, I just said I would go sit with the patient. UGH.......
Some of the nurses have commented that they are not happy with "G" orientating new aides because he's fairly new on the station himself and other reasons.
Then after sitting with the confused patient for awhile my nurse comes in and tells me she is going to have me sit with her other patient because he is more confused then the one I was with. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so tempted to tell the lady in charge of this orientation crap, that if this is how they going to follow the staffing orders, take me off the rest of the shifts she has me assigned to orientate this new aide. I don't need the frustrations.
I don't normally do it anyway. I was doing her a favor because there wasn't anybody else available on the schedule to do it. UGH.........
