Apr. 21st, 2014 03:45 amMy computer is having some major issues tonight.
It has "crashed" 5 times so far. As in shut down with the blue screen saying it's shutting down to protect the computer.
I did a McAfee scan and it showed nothing. I did a Norton scan and it got part way through showing no major problems and it shut down on me. :o
I think I am going to have to take it in this morning and have it looked at.
I hope it won't be in the shop for too long. :( :( :(

Date: 2014-04-21 08:48 am (UTC)It likes to shut down like that periodically, but it's usually no more then once a week. This is getting rediculous. :o

Date: 2014-04-21 09:00 am (UTC)I should probably consider myself lucky. This computer is several years old now. I think I have had it in the shop 3 times for something big. Now we have No. 4. UGH.....

Date: 2014-04-21 09:42 am (UTC)If anti-viruses don't find anything, next best thing to do is use CHKDSK (Checkdisk) - to see if the harddisk is suffering from bad sectors. (This can also lead to blue screens.)
If this doesn't deliver any clue, best thing is to give it to someone to check it out.
Most oft these blue screens occur when there's an internal conflict when executing an action - the reasons for this can many. And if it's something caused by built-in devices that don't work together correctly, even for a more experienced eye this can be like looking for the needle in the haystack.

Date: 2014-04-21 09:54 am (UTC)I am not the most computer savvy. I can ususally get around on them when they are up and running, but when it comes to really running one, I am better off getting somebody else to do the looking. If that makes sense. lol.......
