her BROTHER was the one to make the decision to close, not paula deen herself. waterfront property in savannah is PRIME real estate, and with them both getting older, it's a wise decision especially given the controversy surrounding the place.

if bro is the one doing the day-to-day stuff, it's all on his dumb ass. it just sucks that HER name is at the top of the article, and HER photo is right there...not that she was all correct, just that she ain't necessarily at the bottom of the dumbass decision.

Her brother may have made the decision, but it's her company with her name on the letter head.
But even if it was some Joe Schmoo if you close a business, the employees should be the first to know. :(

Yep, that shit does happen over here also.
I once worked in a company and did overtime because urgent stuff needed to be finished.
The boss came to us at the end of the day to praise us and tell us we could have a day off on monday. (it was friday that day).
Of course we were all excited.
But monday.. a phone came. The company was closed. Broke so to speak.. but WE knew he had been moving all his good equipment to the east of Europe where employe's are much cheaper!
He had planned this all along, but we were the last to know.

I don't think I have ever really trusted any of my managers or the overall bosses as far as my job is concerned.
