Jan. 19th, 2014 08:23 amGod was definitely looking over me this morning.
On the drive home this morning there were several places along the highway where snow had been drifting across, but there were tire tracks from the traffic. So no biggie, right?
I got just pass the over pass to the airport and there was another area where snow had been drifting. Only trouble here was there was actual deep snow on each side of the tire tracks, and my car got caught in it.
My car spun out of control at highway speeds. At one point I did a 360 and was going backward and then some how I managed to do a 180 and get back in the right direction.
I don't know how, thank you God, but with all that twisting and turning I managed to slide straight down the highway. I thought for sure I was going to end up in the ditch, if not flipped over in the ditch. :o :o :o
SCARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Date: 2014-01-20 03:01 am (UTC)The car seems okay. It was a surprisingly smooth slide down the highway.

Date: 2014-01-22 12:01 am (UTC)Because our winter weather is pretty constantly like that, kids around here spend a lot of time after hours in big parking lots like Fred Meyer, the Malls and Wal-Mart purposely forcing their cars to spin out and then gain control of it before hitting a parking lot light. It's a lot of footwork between gas and brake, with steering control a precise instrument. Just a few degrees off on the wheel makes a HUGE difference.
I think the scariest for me is going up a road that has ditches, and then losing traction and sliding backwards down that road. I hate backing up to begin with, but doing it downhill with no control over the car's direction is very scary

Date: 2014-01-22 03:08 am (UTC)I tried to steer, but if I did anything correctly, it was purely accidental. :p
