We're still watching on an older tv that we got as a hand me down from our old housemate and her husband nearly a decade ago, that had been his main tv for probably 5-7 years or so before that. He basically got a bigger newer system when they got married and she moved in with him in their new house and they gave us his old one (with its chromecast 1). I really don't know the current tv market at all, but it sounds horrible if they only last a couple of years.
