Or a few days.....
Where to start...
Just over two weeks ago, I finally jumped off the fence and got a different vehicle.
I got a 2009 Saturn Outlook.
The Carfax report was clean. I test drove it and it was nice.
It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that I would prefer, but it was nice.
The struts on the back hatch door needed to be replaced, but not a big deal.
I didn't trade in my Trailblazer because there was no trade in value. Questioning if I would hold on to it for the rest of the Winter or the foreseeable future. Kind of depends on what insurance will cost to cover both.
Thank you to <lj user="thirteenrocks" for helping me get both vehicles home. And I got to ride in his brand new, that day, vehicle. :)
While driving the Saturn home, the Service Tire Monitoring System light came on. UGH... PLEASE DON'T BE A LEMON like the Caddy I had.
Took it to my mechanic the next morning and he checked the air pressure in the tires, put a little in a couple of them, and said if the light doesn't go off in a day or so, come back and make an appointment to get it looked at.
I kept driving my Trailblazer around because we were having lousy weather and I knew how that would handle for me.
Then I used the Saturn to take Dad to get his second vaccine shot. Side note, gonna have to find dad some kind of step to help him get up in the Saturn. It doesn't have running boards and it's a bit high for him to life his foot up into.
Then I decided to drive the Saturn in to work one night and the Service All Wheel Drive light came on. But on the drive home the next morning it wasn't on. But then when I took dad up to the bank later it was on again. So I made an appointment for the Saturn to get looked over, the two Service lights, the Struts, and a couple of other things. Appointment was for today, Thursday.
Move up to Wednesday morning...
I got done work and walked out to the parking ramp to leave and some IDIOT parked his Massive Toyota Tacoma pickup about a foot away from my driver's side door. No way I could get in my vehicle and I refused to climb through the passenger side and over the center counsel. :o
So I called the Parking and Tranksportation department to do something. She said she would send somebody out to "Access the Situation". Seriously???
I waited and waited and nothing. So after a half hour I called again, and that lady said, You probably talked to the Downtown department. She said she would get somebody out and took the license plate number of the pickup to track them down and have them come move it. Please go wait by your vehicle.
I didn't say it, but I wanted to say, Sure let me go stand in Sub Zero temperatures and wait for somebody to show up.
The guy showed up and agreed I couldn't get in mine while out crawling through the passenger side. I said no problem if I was 30 years younger. :o
He kept checking with the department about trying to find the driver of the pickup and no luck.
How can you not find them? You have their license plate number. That tells you who the driver is. You then know where they work. How can you not find them?
I finally said screw it and squeezed myself over the center counsel and slowly inched my vehicle out of the parking spot so I wouldn't hit the pickup, although I sure wanted to.
Then as I took off I noticed that the Service Engine Light was on in the Trailblazer. SERIOUSLY???
I stopped at my mechanic and asked, which vehicle is safe to be driving with all these dang Service lights on. He said as long as they are not flashing or red I was okay. Okay...
Move forward to Thursday morning...
I got off work and went out to the parking ramp to leave and my vehicle would start, BUT the Reduced Engine Power light was now on. It ran very rough and shut off after about 20 seconds. I tried a second time and same thing.
So I called AAA to see about getting it towed to my mechanic.
First company asked some questions. Himmed and Hawwed and decided they wouldn't be able to get their truck up into the parking ramp to get my vehicle out.
On to next company. They sent somebody out to see what they could do to get vehicle running long enough to get it out of the ramp. Epic Fail...
They called AAA and suggested another tow company they said had a truck that could get into parking ramps.
AAA called and talked to me to say they would authorize this company but it's not a AAA company, so I would have to pay for it out of pocket and get reimburshed for it. I said fine, I don't really have a choice.
Third company shows up, actually from Stewartville, and was able to get me out of the ramp. Super nice guy. Let me ride along with him even though AAA claims that is not possible because of the Virus. When we got to my mechanic I asked if he wanted me to come over to his business to pay the bill, and he said he was taken care of through AAA. They were in the process of becoming a AAA associated business and he said AAA would hold the bill until the paperwork for that went through. Very nice. And if offered to give me a ride home from the mechanic's place.
So I went home and got the Saturn ready and took that to the mechanic for it's appointment. Service All Wheel Drive light was not on today. Mechanic was really nice and offered to give me a ride home.
I finally got home and into bed at NOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Set the alarm for 4 pm because the mechanic closes at 5. I woke up at 3pm. UGH...
Started hoofing it out to the mechanic's shop. As I was walking down the county road on the other side of the park I saw a vehicle go by in the same direction and thought, That looks like my Saturn. Sure enough it pulled over to the curb, and I crossed back over to that side of the street and it was the mechanic out test driving the vehicle. He drove back to the shop and said, they would just combine the two bills and I could come back tomorrow and get the Trailblazer. :o
Needless to say, I am a wee bit worried to see what this bill is going to add up to.
On the diet front, I am a stress eater and needless to say I am STRESSED!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want to comfort eat, but I have to get on the scale in the morning and I am not sure what the scale will say without eating more tonight. :o
And if you get through all that, Thank you.....
