May. 29th, 2012 10:45 pmI just saw an amazing movie.
I went to see The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel tonight. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A brief description from IMDB:
British retirees travel to India to take up residence in what they believe is a newly restored hotel. Less luxurious than it's advertisements, the Marigold Hotel nevertheless slowly begins to charm in unexpected ways.
It's main cast is a who's who from British acting:
Judi Dench
Maggie Smith
Penelope Wilton
Tom Wilkinson
Bill Nighy
Celia Imrie
Ronald Pickup
And also,
Dev Patel from Slumdog Millionaire.
One of the best things about the movie is that it is something new and fresh. It's not a rehash or a part 2 or part 10.
It's a grown up story with emotions(I cried both sad and happy tears), not explosions and car/motorcycle/boat/plane chases.
To steal a break down idea from my friend Mr. Owl...
ENJOYMENT - A+
STORY - A+
TECHNICAL - A
ACTING / DIALOG - A+
VISUALS - A
IMPACT - A+ (Positive)
PACING - A
VALIDITY - A
MOOD - A+
RE-WATCH? - A+
Overall, if you can't guess, I give this movie an A+
