disneydream06: (Christmas Tree)
Tonight is Christmas Tree night. :)
Normally I would have done it Friday night, my frist night off after Thanksgiving, but this year we had our family gathering on Saturday. Although I suppose it wouldn't have made a huge difference. :p
So if you are bored about 1 am, drop by and entertain me tonight while I am cursing at the tree and the Christmas lights. LOL.......
Speaking of lights, mom is not going to be happy with me. I am trying to do a Victorian style Christmas tree this year, so I have some strings of lights that look like candles. Mom's not thrilled with the idea.
Only problem for me is that I have dinked around and it's Christmas now, and I haven't really come up with decorations for the tree. It maybe be a kind of hit and miss/combo style tree this year. :( Oh well...

On another note, I think I have approximately 150 or was it 180, yeah, I think it's 180 pictures left to tranfser to my photobucket account so I can start posting vacation pictures. :p

Maybe this guy needs to spend a little more time in prison. Perhaps a maximum security place.
If you catch my drift.....

Rapper TI: Gays Are Too Sensitive About Anti-Gay Jokes
by Steve Williams

Rapper T.I. has been slammed for saying that gay people need a better sense of humor when it comes to jokes like those made by the controversial comic Tracey Morgan, and that it is an American right to not agree with homosexuality, accusing the gay community of shutting down voices that oppose them.

Readers may remember that comedian and actor Tracy Morgan apologized earlier this year after making a series of homophobic comments in his comedy act that included a vow to kill his son if his son ever came out as gay.

Now, in excerpts from an interview to be published in the December issue of VIBE magazine, Clifford Joseph Harris Jr. (aka T.I.) is quoted as saying:

“Man, I will say this, the funniest joke I ever heard Tracy say during a stand-up was, ‘C’mon man, I think gay people are too sensitive. If you can take a dick, you can take a joke.’ [Cracks up laughing.] That shit was funny to me. And it’s kind of true.’

While T.I. makes clear that he supports anyone’s sexual preference, he then connects, in his opinion, a current oversensitivity among gay people with a consequential and ironic offense of the First Amendment.

“They’re like,’If you have an opinion against us, we’re gonna shut you down. … That’s not American. If you’re gay you should have the right to be gay in peace, and if you’re against it you should have the right to be against it in peace.’

It is important to note that these teasers simply appear under headings like “T.I. on all Americans having equal rights” so the actual question that prompted this answer is not yet available.

However, the fact that T.I. would even reference Tracy Morgan has prompted a slew of media attention while the blogosphere has reacted non too favorably.

Homophobia in rap has been a frequent talking point in recent years, with stars like Eminem and 50 Cent drawing fire for their use of anti-gay slurs. Still, some have defended rap saying that recently there has been progress. They cite that several rappers, or those associated with the rap scene, are actively using their voices to combat homophobia.

T.I. has not yet released a statement on this issue and nor have any of the large LGBT organizations. This post will be updated as responses become available.
