Jun. 28th, 2011 09:00 amI am so miffed at my coworker last night.
I got to work and the charge nurse said they needed on aide to sit with a confused patient and the other aide would be out on the floor working. The other aide asked me what I wanted to do.
Sticking up for myself, because I usually suck it and sit with the confused patient, told her I wanted to work the floor. So she took off to sit in the room.
10-15 minutes later a nurse comes up to me to tell me the other aide called over to say that we would be splitting up the babysitting the confused patient 4 hours and 4 hours. I was like WHAT????? That was not the arrangement. I said, to myself, screw that. I finished stocking both sides of the station and just went over and took over sitting with the confused patient for the whole night. She told me she just hates to sit for 8 hours. I wanted to ask her, What do you do when you float off the station and have to sit with somebody on another station when there isn't an option to only do 4 hours?????? I just kept my mouth shut.
This is not going to keep happening.
Unfortunately, I am pretty positive I will get no help whatsoever from my manager.
