The Dentist.......
Jan. 9th, 2007 02:17 amI don't think I have really said anything here about my recent trips to the dentist.
I have this unexplainable dislike of the dentist, and therefore, I don't think I have gone to see one since high school, until this past December. Then I only went because I was starting to have too much pain in a couple of my teeth.
Well, close to $1800 later, I have most of my teeth in good shape again. I have one tooth that has a temporary antibiotic filling in it. The dentist is trying to prevent having to do a root canal. Sounds like a plan to me.
Today he worked on my upper front teeth. I think four fillings. I thought about asking if he could straighten out the bottom edge of my two front teeth. I don't know if it was wear over the years. but the edge of them had gotten slanted. I didn't say anything. Call me a chicken. After he was done he handed me a mirror to look at my teeth. He had evened them out without me having said anything. Talk about a great guy. My front teeth look so nice now. I can't believe it. Although they may not be white white, the fillings match in perfectly and you can't see them at all. Actually I think my teeth look whiter because there isn't that dark cavity color inside them any more.
Why didn't I do all of this earlier, instead of waiting until it costs me almost $1800?
The good news, is I have dental insurance that will cover all of the cost.
The bad news is, I have to pay the bills before Mother Mayo will pay me back. So far they have paid me back about $350. Yippy..... Fork it over Mother, you don't need the interest as much as I need my money back.
Of course I am not done yet. I still have that temporary filling to take care of. I pray that it doesn't need to have a root canal done. :o
So the lesson here to all my friends: Go see the dentist. Don't be stupid and wait until you have to go.
