Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention
of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body,
but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up,
totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming --

WOW -- What a Ride!

Thanks to my friend Joan for sending me this...

Here is Georgie's form letter reply to my email. Notice it has nothing what so ever to do with my subject, just the topic that I chose to put my letter under. Typical politcs...

Mr. Jon D. Hayenga
421 2nd Street Northwest
Stewartville, Minnesota 55976-1135
Dear Mr. Hayenga:
On behalf of President Bush, thank you for your letter about hate crimes. We appreciate learning your
views on this important issue.
Prejudice and bigotry are inconsistent with the democratic ideals that are the foundation of America.
President Bush condemns any crime that stems from prejudice, and he has called on Americans to
honor the diversity of our people and to treat others with dignity and respect.
The Federal Government is providing financial assistance to local jurisdictions for the reduction of
violence and resolution of disputes, disagreements, and difficulties related to discriminatory practices.
These efforts help ensure that our Nation remains faithful to our founding ideals and that those who
practice intimidation and violence face the full consequences of their actions.
Thank you again for taking the time to write.
Sincerely,
Desiree Thompson
Special Assistant to the President
and Director of Presidential Correspondence

Well, the Oscars have come and gone for another year.
Was it just me or were they BORING!!!!!!!!! this year? Why not just call it the LOTR night and save everyone else the trouble of getting dressed and coming down?
I was able to predict 17 out of the 24 awards, and I had only seen 2 of the movies. Those 2 only received 1 Oscar. Yea, for Finding Nemo. I could have predicted 18 of them but the ballot I had didn't have the right movies listed for one of the awards.
Hopefully, Hollywood will put out a better line up of movies this year.
I apologize for all you LOTR fans, but it just didn't do anything for me. Besides, I just don't think it ranks up there with real classics like All About Eve.
PLEASE DON'T HATE ME. I know some of my friends are big fans of LOTR.
